The NFL's Home Security Crisis

Heyyyyy, long time no see.
It's been a minute (okay, six months) since our last newsletter. Life got crazy, we took an unexpected break, but we're back because something wild is going down in the NFL world, and we need to talk about it.
Why? Because NFL stars are getting their houses cleaned out left and right, and honestly, the whole thing makes a lot of sense when you break it down.
NFL game schedules are public knowledge. When the Los Angeles Rams are playing in Seattle, everyone knows their star players won't be home in LA. It's like posting a "Nobody's Home" sign on a multimillion-dollar property.

I get it. If I just signed a $40 million contract, I'd flex a little too. But some NFL players are essentially giving virtual house tours on Instagram, showing off their watch collections, and basically creating a shopping list for thieves.
They potentially make themselves “soft targets” for criminals. They can be seen as easy pickings because :
They’re schedules are public
Most of them are in their 20s, suddenly rich, and thinking about touchdowns, not security systems
They've got houses in like three different cities (try keeping an eye on all that)
How to Not Get Got
Even if you're not making NFL money, here's how to avoid getting robbed:
Try waiting on vacation posts until you're back home (your Instagram followers can wait)
Avoid posting videos that provide any insight to the layout of your home
Get to know your neighbors - they're better than any security camera when it comes to spotting weird stuff
Make your empty house look lived-in (automatic lights are your friend)
The rest of us might not have our work schedules on ESPN, but we could still learn a thing or two from their mistakes.
We've been on a break, but now we're back and better than ever. Subscribe if you want to stay safer than an NFL player's house.
